If you’re trying to figure out what brand or model of garage door or opener you’ve got, you’re not alone. It’s a question we get all the time – and luckily, it’s usually a pretty easy one to answer once you know where to look.

Where To Find The Brand Of Your Garage Door Opener

The brand or make of your garage door opener is usually printed right on the motor housing itself. It might be a sticker, a label, or even printed directly onto the casing.

Some of the common brands you might see include:

Where To Find The Model Number

The model number is often a little trickier to spot. It’s usually on a sticker located somewhere on the opener motor box. Some of the most common places to check include:

  • Under the light cover.
  • On the back of the unit.
  • On top of the motor.
  • Right near the brand name or logo.

If you’re having trouble finding it, a quick photo and a message to us can help – chances are, we’ve seen your model before.

Where To Find The Brand Of Your Garage Door

Your garage door will usually have a different brand name to the opener. That’s totally normal. Here’s where to look depending on the type of door you have:

Roller Doors:

MODERN STANDARD ROLLER DOOR
  • On the outside locking plate.
  • On a sticker inside the door paneling.

Sectional Doors:

GLIDEROL TUSCAN SECTIONAL DOOR
  • On a sticker on the outside – usually in the bottom left or right corner.
  • On a sticker inside the door panels.

Tilt Doors:

MODERN STANDARD TILT DOOR
  • These often aren’t branded, but it’s still worth checking the same spots as sectional doors (outside bottom corners or inside the door).

Common Garage Door Brands

Here are a few of the more popular garage door brands you might come across.
